1972 Ford Thunderbird project

This car was purchased many years ago with the intention of being transformed into a “lead sled”. The interior was stripped and the vinyl top removed. It then had the belt trim removed and the holes along with the side marker lights, filled. At this point, the project was stalled and it was covered and placed in dry, climate controlled storage where it has remained until now.

Condition:
The car is overall, solid. There is a minor bit of corrosion around the edges of the rear window, typical of a 50 year old car that once had a vinyl top. There are also two interesting ‘divots’ in the ‘A’ pillars that we are unsure of their origins. There is some very minor surface corrosion in those.

The engine does turn over, but we have elected to not start it. The seats, upon their removal, were discarded and are not present. Most of the other interior panels are with the car, as well as much of the removed trim pieces. We have not reinstalled these pieces. The Lincoln wire wheels do not properly fit, and are mounted for aesthetics only (but are included with the sale). Based on the inspection receipts, we believe the mileage to be actual.

Major pieces we have not located are:

  • Seats
  • Rear Bumper
  • Side Marker Lights
  • Belt Trim
