Up for auction today is a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner 2 door hardtop. RM23

Needs full restoration. See pictures.

I was told once by a professional Automobile restorer to “only restore a car worth restoring”.

This is that car.

I bought this car from a doctor who’s Father bought in in 1997 from the previous long term owners in Colorado.

His Father has since passed. Family has no intension of restoring it.

I bought it a few months ago and am never going to have the time to do it. It’s Just in the way.

383 Automatic transmission

Odometer reads 89,000 miles?

What separates this car from the other restoration projects is the following…

This car retains it’s original Numbers Matching Engine. Partial VIN is on the block.

This car retains it’s original Numbers Match Transmission. Partial VIN in on the case.

The partial VIN is on the radiator support.

The partial VIN is on the trunk lip.

The original Fender tag is in place. Note the one red screw!

I found the original build sheet under the back seat. Good shape.

This car is the real deal.

R4 Performance red. Faded looks orange. A lot of factory paint still present.

White Vinyl top.

White interior. Interior was recovered in the 70’s with a red cloth. No carpet. Headliner needs replaced.

White upper door frames.

White pinstripe. Some of it is still there in the door jamb. Dual wide and narrow stripe.

This car has rust in the trunk. And extensions. See pictures.

Has rust in lower rear quarters.

See picture of new full quarters.

Has little rust on passenger side frame rail.

The floors and all other frame rails look good.

Door fenders all ok.

Hood hinge area looks good.

Factory bucket seat car.

Column shift with no console!

Factory AM 8 Track with stereo dash still there.

I believe the car came with factory painted wheels with dog dish caps and Red line tires.

3:23 sure grip rear end.

All options are there and provable with the build sheet.

Engine does crank. Is not locked up.

I removed gas tank. Have not heard it run. Previous owner said his Father did drive it and said it ran good.

Car will need trailered.

Car will come with other 14 inch wheels on the back when shipped.

I have original valve covers and original Carburetor (I believe) as well as some other miscellaneous parts.

I have a clean Iowa title for the car in which I can re assign to you. I hold a state re sale certificate. I’ve had it 25 years to keep my hobby legal.
