For sale is a 1953 Willys Aero Eagle project car. The project was based on a modern drag car version of this classic Willys, complete with a drivetrain pulled from a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. The sale includes the cars itself in its current state, the complete Challenger drivetrain and associated parts, a large lot of new “race” parts, and and even larger lot of NOS and used OEM Willys parts to complete the project. I will detail each of those aspects below. We purchased this vehicle as a project and have realized we don’t have time to finish it. Included are two large binders of receipts which total well over $100K not including the additional parts we purchased or our labor. If you think we are way off on price, please make an offer. We were not sure where to start but feel our asking price is fair. The worst we can say is no!

The car does have an Arizona assembled vehicle VIN (AZ264057) and title. The title has been signed off but is not notarized so we have been told we cannot transfer it. We believe the previous owner to be deceased. Since we were building as a race car we did not pursue titling the car but most likely you will need to go through the legal process of figuring that out if you desire one. This sale will include a bill of sale only but all the paperwork we have will be included (Arizona titled, all the assembled vehicle paperwork, the original vehicles VIN tags, license plate records, etc.). We also have all the paperwork from the 2009 challenger including the bill of sale from the scrap yard we purchased it from noting the VIN of the vehicle it was pulled from.

1953 Willys Aero Eagle Body & Chassis

All steel original Willys body. In 1953 only about 7,000 of these were build and we believe less than 1,000 exist today. Trunk and hood fitment is much nicer than it appears in the photos, they are just sitting on the body for pictures.

Body was taken down the bare metal and all major corrosion was repaired. The car has been in storage for about 20 years since then but it is still in excellent condition. The front edge of the hood will need attention as well one spot on the lower front valiance but nothing major. Included with the sale are hundreds of picture of the body restoration project.

A partial tube chassis is welded in place including a 10 point cage and full all steel tins. The rear is tubbed to accept very large tires. The tins have surface rust from storage but that could easily be corrected.

Front suspension is dual A-arm all sourced from Chris Alston Chassis Works. It is a complete kit and is prepared for the included QA1 shock kit and included Wildwood Brakes

Rear suspension is a 4-link kit sourced from Chris Alston Chassis Works. Includes a shortened Fab9 welded axle housing. Not that no axle shafts are included.

Motor and transmission mounts are fabricated to accept the 2009 Challenger 6.1L Hemi Engine and Tremec T56 six speed transmission. Bolted into car but final fitment will be required. Drivetrain details below.

Trunk is fitted with a custom build aluminum fuel tank fitted with custom stainless hard lines. New fuel pump is installed, detail on that below.

Trunk is fabricated to accept two racing batteries on either side.

2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Drivetrain and Parts

Removed from a total Challenger, VIN 2B3LJ74W39H579917. Vehicle had 45K miles. The Carfax notes that the transmission was replaced at 35K so it only has 10K miles.

Transmission is a Tremec T56 and has not been separate from the engine. The clutch, flywheel, shifter, etc. are in place.
